
St. Agnes Girls Boarding Primary School – Term III Highlights (Sept–Dec 2025)
St. Agnes Catholic Girls’ Boarding Primary School Naggalama continued to excel throughout the September–December 2025 term, marked by outstanding academic achievements, deeply enriching spiritual activities, vibrant co-curricular engagements and a strong display of discipline and character. St. Agnes Wins Gold in the Junior Commonwealth Essay Writing Competition
This term, St. Agnes celebrated a historic achievement as ten pupils excelled in the 2025 Commonwealth Essay Writing Competition.
Kenleigh Madeleine Alowo, President of the Writers’ Club, emerged as the top performer with a prestigious Gold Award, while several others earned Silver and Bronze Awards. The Headmistress, Rev. Sr. Rose Basemera, applauded the learners for raising the school’s flag high and demonstrating excellence in creativity and critical thinking.
P7 Candidates Receive Blessings Ahead of PLE
A special Blessing Mass was held at St. Joseph Parish Naggalama on 25 October 2025 to spiritually prepare the Primary Seven candidates for the national examinations.
Rev. Fr. Tamale Lawrence encouraged them to combine hard work with prayer and assured them of God’s guidance. Parents and pupils expressed gratitude for this faith-strengthening celebration.
Brides of St. Agnes Receive Holy Sacraments
On 18 October 2025, pupils received Holy Communion, Confirmation and Commitment in Faith.
Rev. Fr. Mboowa Geoffrey presided over the ceremonies, encouraging the brides to nurture their spiritual journey and live as committed witnesses of Christ.
The Headmistress thanked teachers and parents for preparing the brides and guiding them toward a life rooted in discipline and integrity.
Routine Medical Examination Conducted for All Pupils
A team from St. Francis Hospital Naggalama carried out a termly medical checkup assessing eyesight, dental health, body fitness and general wellbeing.
The exercise emphasized early detection of health issues, hygiene, and proper nutrition. Pupils were encouraged to maintain healthy habits both at school and home.
Outstanding Performance in Religious Education Exams
St. Agnes registered impressive results in the 2025 Religious Education Diocesan Exams.
Learners scored highly, with the best pupil obtaining 96 percent. The Headmistress congratulated the champions for exemplifying both academic excellence and spiritual growth.
Legionaries Make a Pilgrimage to Kiwamirembe
The Legionaries of Mary embarked on a prayerful pilgrimage to Kiwamirembe Hill on 31 October 2025.
They prayed, reflected at different stations, and participated in a Holy Mass led by Rev. Fr. Erick, who encouraged them to remain steadfast in devotion to Mother Mary.
P7 Candidates Seek Divine Favour at Nkokonjeru
Ahead of their PLE, candidates travelled to Nkokonjeru for prayers, Mass, and reflection on the legacy of Mother Kevin Kearney.
They also visited Providence Home, donating essential items to children with disabilities—a lesson in charity, humility and compassion.
Spiritual Renewal at Namugongo Martyrs Shrine
The candidates also visited the Catholic and Anglican Shrines at Namugongo, learning about the sacrifice and courage of the Uganda Martyrs.
A Holy Mass was celebrated for them, and pupils returned inspired to face their exams with faith and determination.
Sports and Physical Education Activities
Primary Two pupils showcased impressive energy and teamwork during their PE session on 11 November 2025.
Activities included wheelbarrow races, stretching routines and running exercises, all aimed at promoting fitness, coordination and teamwork.
In Memory of Ms. Mary Josephine Nabuyungo
The school community joined the nation in honoring the life of Ms. Mary Josephine Nabuyungo, a dedicated educator and cherished member of St. Agnes’ School Management Committee. Her legacy of service, humility and leadership continues to inspire many.
